Leonard Walker Obituary

ODESSA Leonard Littleman Walker was born December 6, 1950, to Ms. Precious Johnson in Lamesa, Texas. He was third of six children.

Leonard attended school in Midland, Texas, where he graduated from Carver High School in 1968. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1969 until 1977. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, he returned to Midland, Texas.

Leonard was employed with Sears Roebuck until he retired in 2000. Then was later employed with Clover House Inc. until 2007. He had two unions during his lifetime one with Debra Davis and another with Bertha Moore. He cherished his latter years with Evelyn Anderson until her death in 2003. In 1998, he became an active member of the Agape Ministries Dream Center. Leonard served as an usher in the church and did many odd jobs as he was needed.

On April 25, 2008, Leonard graduated and went home to be with our heavenly father. Preceding his death were: his mother, Precious Johnson; sister, Pearline Mitchell; and special friend, Evelyn Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, LaShon Elkins of New York; Latosha Anderson of Odessa; three sisters, Vicki Coleman (Reginald Shepard), Darla Hardaway (Bruce) and Andrea Coleman, all of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Decordric Anderson, Kiara Ellis and Mone Ellis, all of Odessa; five nieces, Syreeta Coleman, Ebony Kelley (Christopher), Heidi Johnson, Brandi Ybarra (Jason) and Amber Johnson; two nephews, Kevin Coleman and Derrick Coleman, all of Midland, Texas; 15 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Agape Ministries Dream Center with Jimmy Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at the Ector County Cemetery in the Los Angeles Garden. Services are entrusted to Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
