Mario Pando Obituary

PRESIDIO Mario M. Pando, Jr., age 38, of Presidio, passed from this life on Monday, February 6, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born in Redford, TX on April 29, 1973 to Mario G. Pando, Sr. and Arcilia (Montoya) Pando. He married Azucena Carrasco in Presidio on November 1, 1993. Mario worked for TxDot.

Mario was a very devout Catholic with a beautiful, strong faith. He loved the outdoors and ranching and animals were his favorite hobby. He enjoyed anything to do with cattle, horses, farming and ranching. Mario had a great sense of humor and always had the funniest jokes to share. He had a knack for giving people the silliest yet most fitting nicknames.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years: Azucena Pando of Presidio; daughter: Jocelyn Pando, age 17, of Presidio; son: Carlo Ivan Pando, age 13, of Presidio; parents: Arcilia and Mario Pando, Sr. of Presidio; maternal grandparents: Anastacio and Sara Montoya of Presidio; brothers: Omero Pando and wife Sandra and Orlando Pando, all of Odessa and two sisters: Veronica Prieto and husband Jose Juan and Claudia Baeza and husband Polo, all of Presidio.

Rosary will be said on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Santa Theresa Catholic Church in Presidio at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be 10:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Santa Theresa Catholic Church, officiated by Father Jose Alfredo Hinojosa. Following funeral services, Mario will be returned to his beloved Redford, TX for burial at Redford Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.
