Clare McClellan Obituary

The Rev. Clare W. McClellan, 87, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, in Golden LivingCenter of South Hills, Canonsburg.
He was born May 26, 1928, in Dunn Station, a son of the late Ernest D. and Margaret Bowie McClellan.
The Rev. McClellan was a member of Southern Baptist Church and served several congregations in this area including First Baptist Church of Canonsburg, McDonald AME Zion Church and Imperial Baptist Church. He was also a member of Cecil American Legion.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Balaban McClellan; daughters Margaret (James) Horvath Jr. and Dorothy (Thomas Coughenour) Merigo, both of McDonald; son Michael McClellan of McDonald; brothers Jake McClellan of Greene County and Ralph (Beverly) McClellan of Florida; and sisters Margaret Post of Greene County and Ester (Milton) Stump of Florida. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are brothers James, Ray and Ephriam McClellan, and a grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 28. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with full military honors.
