Cody Crawford Obituary

It is with great sorrow we announce the tragic passing of our beloved son.

Cody Logan Crawford, 29, of Bulger, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from a pulmonary embolism / edema while vacationing with friends, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Cody was born on January 19, 1992, to parents, Mark and Laurie Crawford in Pittsburgh.

A graduate of Fort Cherry High School in 2010. Cody went on to work for Laborer's Building Trades Local 373, and most recently Union Carpenter Local 432.

He had a strong work ethic and was admired by his fellow union members for that.

There is no way to honor or describe Cody accurately other than to say he loved life and lived it fully, even though at times it was close to the edge. Cody overcame a multitude of challenges but persevered, nonetheless.

His genuine lovable personality enabled him to befriend everyone he met- and his friendships ranged across many states. He relished talking, never one to pass judgement, and would assist anyone who asked him.

Cody enjoyed spending time doing many interests with his family. Spending time on the Allegheny River canoeing gardening, making pickles, butchering, hunting, fishing, smoking meats, and cooking, were some of his favorites. He loved sharing his homemade goods with those he worked with and often raided the fridge to grab a jar of something to take to work.

Anyone who may have had the experience of knowing him can attest that he was a free spirit with a good heart who was always ready for a new adventure or challenge. He was our "Peter Pan" and as Peter said, "Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting."

Cody will never be forgotten.

Cody was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Robert Crawford; maternal grandfather, Michael G. Duran.

He leaves behind his parents, Mark and Laurie, who love him more than words can express; brothers, Clayton and Colten; paternal grandmother, Janet Crawford; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Duran; many aunts and uncles; and a multitude of family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cody may be away from us, but we hold him close within us. Please hold him close, as we do, in your mind and your spirit.

I'm so saddened and shocked to hear of Cody's passing. I remember him from back in the day at the Washington County Fair when my girls were involved with 4H. I thought about him and it brought back warm memories and put a smile on my face. He surely was fun and a genuinely happy individual. I'm so sorry for your loss.
