Rev. David Louis Jemison, of Modesto, Calif., was 83 years of age when he completed his life's mission of winning souls to Christ.
David was born September 20, 1937, in Canonsburg, a son of the late David and Mariah Jemison of Westland.
Reverend Jemison spent well over 50 years spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served as a pastor of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Midland and led prison ministries from Pittsburgh to California. His missionary trip to Africa with other ministers around the country was considered one of his proudest accomplishments where over 11,000 souls were saved.
David departs the lives of his wife, Marie Jemison; his sons, David Jemison, Mark (Selette) Jemison; daughters, Rose (Richard) Mcintosh, Lynn Law Lewis (Rudolph), Carol Patterson (Raven), Diane P. Carter (JL) and Cheryl P. Ellicott (Bruce). David departs sisters, Freda Kemp and Annie Lee Graves.
The fruit of his 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren are spread throughout the United States.
He was predeceased by sons, Paul and Mike Patterson; siblings, Joseph, Samuel Jemison, Rose Marie Wallace, Mary Ella Kemp and Frances Jemison Johnson.
While David Jemison has gone home, we rejoice knowing "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
