Donald Levin Obituary

Donald J. Levin, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 7, 2017, in his home in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was born October 13, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a beloved son of Samuel L. and Rose K. Levin.
Mr. Levin graduated from Aliquippa High School and went on to University of Pittsburgh's School of Arts and Sciences, from where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in 1953.
Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a high-speed radio operator in Armored Signal Company. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1961.
Mr. Levin went on to work in sales at Gross Furniture Co. in Fredericktown until 1988, when he joined Philip Bell Co. in Meadow Lands as a sales manager. He retired in 1995.
Surviving are his wife, Colette; four children, Gregg Levin (Daryl), Scott Levin, Stephen Levin (Laurie) and Alison Bates; seven grandchildren, Nathan Levin (Sari), Stephanie Kushnick (Drew), Andrew Levin, Bryan Levin (Holly), Grace Levin, Annie Levin and Rachel Bates; two great-grandchildren, A.J. Levin and Eve Kushnick; a sister, Beverly Lewis (Marvin); and a brother, Herbert Levin (Carol).
Friends and family are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, May 11, in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Rabbi David Novitsky officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Washington.
Arrangements are entrusted to Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors Inc., Charles R. Piatt, owner/supervisor, Lawrence K. Donovan, director.
