Donald R. Morris, 78, of Finleyville, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Keeney Morris; three children, Amy Racunas (Robert), Allison Rohrbaugh (Troy), and Donnie; and five grandchildren, Ellie, Emma and Audrey Racunas, and Avery and Austin Rohrbaugh.
Don was born May 30, 1945, to Hallet Leroy and Mary Hansen Morris of Elizabeth.
Don is a 1963 alumnus of Elizabeth Forward High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Physical Education from California University of Pennsylvania.
The youngest of five children, Don was preceded in death by Norma Jean Morris Weston, Leroy, William and Robert.
Don was a dedicated teacher, coach, small business owner, probation officer, and DUI coordinator. Many people know Don from the proud years he spent at the helm of The Locker Room – a sporting goods store in Charleroi. He loved supporting youth athletics and community events.
Above all, Don was a devoted husband, father and friend. He and Mary Beth cherished every athletic event, dance recital, and band gig or performance of their children and grandchildren. Don seemed to know someone everywhere he went. His huge personality and gift for friendly conversation made it hard to walk away from him without becoming his friend.
He loved to golf, watch the ocean waves, listen to Doo-Wop music, care for his yard, play with his dogs, and tell his friends all about his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. Donnie was one of the nicest people I have ever known. He was a good friend of my husband, I don't know how we didn't know of his passing until yesterday. He will be missed by all who knew him . What a great guy!

My Sincere Sympathies go out to the Family of Don Morris. Everything stated in the Obituary is true and then some. I worked with Don for many years in security at the Meadows Racetrack; and you couldn't find a more Dedicated worker or Better Friend. Will miss all the breakfasts we went to; he was always educating me. GOD BLESS
