Donna Weaver Evelsizer

Donna Weaver Evelsizer, of Waynesboro, Va., passed into her heavenly home Saturday, April 5, 2025. She was born July 6, 1941, in Washington, a daughter of the late Paul I. "Brick" Weaver and the late Margaret D. "Peg" Gaston Weaver. Donna graduated from Trinity High School in 1959 and Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1962; she worked at Washington Hospital for 3 years. On July 3, 1965, she married Lyle G. Evelsizer of Eighty Four, and they then moved to Waynesboro. She worked at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, Hospice of the Shenandoah Support and for the Augusta Regional Free Clinic in several capacities. Donna was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle G. Evelsizer; her only sibling, her brother, James Paul Weaver, Sr. and his wife, Dorothy Tuttle Weaver. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle Evelsizer Peck (Jeffery); her son, Michael Lyle Evelsizer (Misty Kyle); her grandsons, Alexander Michael Peck, Caleb Nelson Brink Peck; granddaughters, Taylor Faith Evelsizer Swisher (Josh), and Jayden Diane Evelsizer; and great- granddaughter, Maci Dawn Swisher. Donna is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of the service at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home Chapel, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, Va., with the service conducted by Pastor Jim Harris. Interment will be in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
