Edwin Britko Obituary

Edwin "Father Ed" Britko, 80, of La Grange, Ky., formerly of Nashua, N.H., and Marianna, passed away Saturday evening, February 7, 2015.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served courageously during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Britko was a district sales manager for 3M National Advertising for more than 21 years. Never one to sit still, he also co-owned Chicken Hutch restaurant in Merrimack, N.H., Classic Reproductions Corp., and Father Ed Equipment Repair Service.
He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Britko loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, Yamaha snowmobiler and frequent winner on the drag racing circuit. He cherished taking long rides on his Yamaha V-MAX motorcycle. Playing cards with family and friends always ended with roars of laughter. He loved and cared for animals of all kinds, serving as the neighborhood "animal whisperer." Animals brought him great joy and so did his pet Shetland sheepdogs. The most recent Sheltie, Lexi Leigh, was his shadow.
He was the youngest and last survivor of eight other siblings.
Surviving are his lovely wife of 56 years, Luci Natale, who is originally from Canonsburg; daughter Kimberly Britko-Leese and her children, Marissa Nicole and Evan Leese of La Grange; sons Gregory Britko of Manchester, N.H., and his children, Ryan and Tyler, Kevin Britko of Cowan Heights, Calif., and Gary Britko (Lora) and their children, Amanda and Alyssa of Norton, Mass.
As per Mr. Britko's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services held. However, a memorial celebration will take place at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be made to Kentucky Humane Society at kyhumane.org/donate or at 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, KY 40214. Oldham County Funeral Home, La Grange, Ky., is entrusted with arrangements.

I am very sorry to hear about Ed. He was a very good friend to my Dad and we all had some great times together when Ed was big into snowmobiles back in his NH days. I have great memories of snowmobiling with my Dad and Ed. He built some of the fastest and most incredible snowmobiles to ever see a frozen drag strip!! Racing up and down the lake was a ton of fun and times I will never forget. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to the Britko family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

My uncle/brother, Ed Britko will always be a part of my life. As kids, we competed over anything and everything. I don't ever remember winning.
