John R. Colpo, 82, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully, in his home, surrounded by family, Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was born April 1, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Geno and Lena Colpo.
John was a teacher and a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He was also a member of St. Isadore the Farmer Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Burgettstown Italian Club, and a volunteer at the food bank.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita M. Colpo; sons, Chris J. and Daniel J. (Gretchen) Colpo; brother, Gene (Marilyn) Colpo; grandchildren, Grace and Connor Colpo; brother-in-law, John Lounder, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Dr. Jennifer Colpo and Gina (Christopher) Tarr, Johnny (Paula) and Adam (Geneva) Lounder; great-nieces and nephews, Eli, Anna and Samuel Tarr, Maria, Anthony, Grant and AJ Lounder; and many cousins.
Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
Memorial contributions, in John's name, may be made to a charity of one's choice.

We were saddened to learn of John's passing. He was a good man, leaving a positive impression on everyone. I will always remember our great times coaching track and having breakfast after retirement. Everybody liked; he will be greatly missed.

John was a hero of mine. As alter servers he was the lead server in my first mass. He helped me avoid many land mines with Sister Baptista as a server. He is a good guy heaven will be happy to receive him.
