John L. Fox Jr, 95, of Carmichaels, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, in his home. John was born in Jefferson Township, Waynesburg, on October 15, 1929, a son of the late John L and Hazel Zimmerman Fox Sr. He is survived by two sons; Ronald Scherick (Valerie), of Niles, Ohio, and Fred L Fox (Donna), of Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter, Lisa J Fox, of McDonald; nine grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great- nephews; as well as his caregiver and great niece, Patricia Patton; two brothers, Ronald Fox, and Donald Fox; and one sister, Matilda Carter. Preceding John in death are brothers, Jim, Allen, and Pete Fox; sisters, Dorothy Clark, Rosa Phillips, Thelma Fletcher, Phyllis Thomas, and Betty Workman. John served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War and 15 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a retired coal miner from Mt. Braddock (PA) mine, worked as a dairy truck driver, and Fox junkyard. He was a life member of the American Legion-Masontown, V.F.W-Waynesburg, The North American Hunting Club, The AM VETS-Hopwood, the military order of the Cooties (Pup Tent #033), and the 40-8 Club (Social), Smithfield. Family and friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and Thursday 12 to 1 p.m., the time of service with Reverend Donald P Wilson, in the Paul M Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320. 724-966-5100.
