John Hull Obituary

May 22, 1950 - March 2, 2025 John G. Hull, affectionately known as "Shorty", passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was a beloved father, husband and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him. Shorty was a graduate of West Greene High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. He worked his entire career in the natural gas industry as a lineman, foreman and supervisor. He loved his work, and was known as a dedicated employee and respected supervisor. In his free time, Shorty enjoyed the outdoors. He looked forward to hunting season each year, and took pride in the careful maintenance of his property. Shorty was a member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461 and The Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Marie Hull of Rogersville; his sister, Karen Hull of Waynesburg; and brother, Sherman (Irma) Hull of Accident, Md. Shorty is survived by his loving wife, Debra; his children, Lauren (Shane) Semple of Canonsburg, and Kasey Hull of Silverthorne, Colo.; his grandchildren, Elliana, Luca and Gianni Semple; his stepchildren, Brad (Dana) Weighley of Highspire, and Doug (Kelly) Weighley of Erie; sister, Connie Morris of Fawn Grove; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
