Josephine "Josie" Frances Konrad, loving mother, devoted wife, and friend to all, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, leaving the world a little less bright. Josie was born January 24, 1959, in Waynesburg, to the late Joseph Kurilko and Julia Andrenok. She was raised in Point Marion and went on to become a secretary for her alma mater at Mapletown High School. Josie was also an EMT for years and took pride in helping others in need. Josie later met the love of her life, Joe, while visiting her sister, Marie, in Delaware. The two became inseparable and married October 10, 1992. Josie and Joe shared 31 loving years together. Although Josie worked as a preschool teacher at Whatcoat Christian Preschool and later a receptionist at H&R Block, her favorite job and biggest accomplishment in life was being a mother to her two children. Josie loved to laugh - she was outgoing, funny and caring to everyone she met. She loved making friends, being involved in her community, giving to those in need, and making others smile. She was a beautiful light who touched countless lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kurilko; her sister, Marie Camp and brother-in-law, Roger Camp Sr. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Konrad Jr.; and two children, Joseph Konrad III, Julia Konrad and future son- in-law Dylan Wergelis- Isaacson; as well as nephews, Gary Camp and Roger Camp Jr., and their families. The Konrad family would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. Joseph Rubacky and to Dr. Roberto Scaffidi. Their compassion, kindness, and care meant the world to Josie and family. The family will receive friends at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901, beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 30. Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. All who are unable to attend may watch the livestream on Torbert Funeral Chapel's website:
