Myra Joan "Joann" Chambers, 88, of Carmichaels, passed peacefully from this life to her permanent resting place Saturday, August 30, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 12, 1936, in Greene County, a daughter of the late Willis E. and Agnes V. Conway John. She retired in 2002 from West Virginia University after 24 years of service. She loved teaching women the proper techniques to make themselves beautiful with Mary Kay cosmetics for 15 years. She was a fabulous cook and wonderful baker, and at one time was known for her famous eggnog. While raising her children, all the kids in the neighborhood no matter where they lived wanted to eat and hang out at their home. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved by everyone who met her. No day will ever have the same meaning for those who loved her. She was known to her grandchildren as Hona. Joann had formerly lived in Waynesburg, Kirby, Carmichaels, and Orville, Ohio. After retirement, she became very involved in painting classes and began painting beautiful pictures that hang on the walls of her home. She was Baptist by faith. Before she became ill, she attended church, knowing God on a personal level, and reading her Bible and praying daily. When she was unable to attend church, she and her husband read daily devotions together. For the past three years as she remained in her hospital bed, not able to participate in family functions and having a limited view of her home, she could only watch her family, longing to be able to move again. She has now been given a full view from her Heavenly home while her body has been healed from all pain. She has received her highest honor. What a happy day of rejoicing it will be when her family joins her. On October 10, 1970, she married Raymond D. "Bud" Chambers, of Jefferson, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Beth Dulaney Sabo of Carmichaels, Quinton (Hilda) Dulaney of Waynesburg, Jim "Tiny" (Dawn) Dulaney of Mt. Morris, Molly Chambers Diamond of Pittsburgh, and a grandson they raised, Timothy "TJ" Dulaney of Centerville; along with five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Lanham and Helen Herrington. There are not enough kind words to thank "our OSPTA Hospice family" for the wonderful care they provided. We could not have navigated this journey without them: Theresa, Frieda, Erika Lynn, Heather, Heidi and Pastor Jeff Marton. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, with the Rev. Jeff Marton officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Condolences may be expressed at
