Nancy Lee Lavins Cox, 86, of Waynesburg, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, in the Washington Hospital in Washington.
She was born Sunday, August 18, 1935, in Rices Landing, a daughter of the late Paul Lavins and Julia Kushner Lavins.
Mrs. Cox was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Waynesburg. She was an avid dog lover and was a 1953 graduate of Carmichaels High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Nancy had worked in housekeeping at the former Curry Home and Beverly Health Care, both in Waynesburg.
Her husband, Herbert A. Cox, whom she married September 3, 1955, died July 1, 1989.
Surviving are one daughter, Becky (Sam) McCullough of Prosperity; one son, Gary A. (Elaine) Cox of Waynesburg; two granddaughters, Marcie (Patrick) Walker of Pittsburgh, and Julia Rick of Waynesburg; four great-grandchildren, Gavyn Rick, Mason Rick, Zoey Rick and Matthew Rick, all of Waynesburg; one sister, Jacqueline Enci of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Paul Lavins of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Walter Lavins and John Lavins.
At the request of the deceased, there will no public visitation or services. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner / director, 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, has been entrusted with her arrangements, with Father Francis Frazer as celebrant. Private burial will be in Phillips Cemetery, Spraggs.
