Robert M. "Spank" Byers, 53, of Scott Township, passed away peacefully Friday, January 27, 2023, in St. Clair Hospital, with his devoted family and friends by his side. He was born December 8, 1969, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Richard and Sarah Frances "Frankie" Nackoul Byers.
Bob lived most of his life in the Canonsburg and Scott Township areas, and 20 years in Fredericksburg, Va. Bob was a Roman Catholic.
He was a graduate of Canon-McMillan Senior High School Class of 1988 and earned a bachelor's degree while in Virginia.
As an insurance agent, Bob had been employed with Marley Financial, where he was passionate about his clients.
Bob loved Yough Lake, where he was a member of the "prestigious" Dock 1. He most enjoyed time spent on his Chris-Craft cabin cruiser, the SS POOKIE. He was a board member of the Beadling Sports Club and was happy to be with his family, friends and support group, especially the kids who just loved "Uncle Bob".
On December 10, 2022, he married his loving companion of 12 years, Stacey A. Altman, who survives.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Erin Altman of Pittsburgh, Emily, Alexis, Robert, Olivia and Gia Byers, all of Fredericksburg, Va.; his brother, Richard Byers and wife Kim of Enterprise, Ala.; his sister, Barbara Gooch and husband James of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Bob's family and friends would like to thank the staff and doctors at St. Clair Hospital for their kindness and all the help given through their difficult times.
Friends and family were welcome from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 29, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where a Catholic Blessing services will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be private. The family would like to invite friends to a Celebration of Life luncheon at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, in the Beadling Sports Club, 675 Painters Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.

Sending Prayers for the family. I haven´t seen Bobby for many years, but I remember working with him when we were younger at the gas station by his home in west end. Sorry I lost touch. RIP Bobby
