Robert "Bob" Jay McMillen, Sr., 70, of Monongahela, formerly of Washington passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024 in his home. Born on May 8, 1954 in Washington, Bob was a beloved son of the late George and Audrey "Jeannine" Barnickel McMillen of Meadowlands. A proud 1972 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School, Bob dedicated his life to hard work and service. He spent 30 years with Robinson Pipe Cleaning Co. in Eighty Four before retiring in 2017 from the Washington-East Washington Joint Authority after 15 years of service. His commitment to his community extended to volunteering as a firefighter with the Valley Inn Fire Department and being an active member of the Masonic Lodge #164 in Washington. Bob was renowned for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others. On September 16, 1972, Bob married Sharon R. Moore, who preceded him in death on August 11, 2009. Bob found love again, and on December 7, 2024 married Cathy M. Niel, who survives him as his devoted wife and companion of 15 years. Bob is also survived by his brother, Gary L. McMillen; three loving sons, Robert J. McMillen, Jr., Jason R. (Michele) McMillen, and Erik G. (Natalie) McMillen; stepchildren, Kimberly (William) Brooks and Patrick (Hayden) Van Henry; and three cherished grandsons, Guy T. Markley, Erik G. McMillen, Jr., and Lincoln J. Brooks. Services and burial will be private, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela. In honor of Bob's compassionate nature and final wishes, memorial contributions can be made to Gateway Hospice, 938 McKnight Road, Suite 201, McKnight, PA 15237, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
