She was born November 23, 1952, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph D. Falvo and Betty J. Verno Falvo of Washington.
Susan was a 1970 graduate of Trinity High School, attended West Liberty College, was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Bloomfield and was a 1995 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Prior to purchasing the Robert C. Gordon Home for Funerals with her husband in 1978, Susan worked as a nurse at Kane Hospital, Kade Nursing Home, The Extended Care Facility of the Washington Hospital and also worked as a private duty nurse.

She was a family woman above all else and enjoyed nothing more than having her children and grandchildren with her, and spent most of her evenings and weekends at her grandson's baseball games or doing whatever the day brought her with her grandchildren's activities. Although we would only meet briefly from time to time and on a work basis while dealing with death claims for mutual clientele, Susan was always kind, personable and a real pleasure to speak with as we would sit at the table in the office. Her friendliness was genuine and always had the time to chat for a bit and not just discuss the business at hand. My heartfelt sympathies to the Tims and your entire family.

The news of Susan´s passing was shocking and saddening. In days gone by, we shared many chats and laughs on our morning walks in the Washington Mall! Our last "chance" meeting was at Bartram Bakery. Purposefully, I lunched there, today, and reflected in the warm sun. I will miss those surprise chats.
May God carry all of you during this difficult time and in the days ahead. May you find peace in your memories! God Bless!
