Wayne Edward McCartney, 76, of Washington, died Sunday, May 2, 2021, in Washington Hospital.
He was born January 5, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Edward Martin and Dixie Naylor Kelley.
Wayne was a machinist for Millcraft Industries.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friend, Dave, playing Texas Holdem with his friends at Veterans of Foreign Wars 927 and Moose Lodge 22, going to the casino, and taking his special granddaughter, Joslynn, fishing and to the parks. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and played bass in bands in his early years.
On July 10, 2004, Wayne married Annie Gizoni, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Wayne E. McCartney Jr. of Finleyville, Michael Wayne (Amanda) McCartney of Washington, Joseph Landock of Washington; daughters Renee (Buck) Krenn of Finleyville, Jodi (Mike) Ross of Venetia; brothers Ronald McCartney of Kansas City, Kans., Edward (Sherry) Kelley of Ashland, Ohio, Jim (Kathy) Kelley of Washington, Tom (Debbie) Kelley of Washington, Roger Kelley of Washington; sister Shirley Travers of Old Town, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Wayne in death were his son, Robert Scott McCartney; brothers Carl, Robert and Paul McCartney; and sister Joyce Kelley.
Wayne was Pentecostal by faith.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Covid-19 precautions apply.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, with Pastor Edward M. Kelley, Jr. officiating.
