Scotland Kelsey Appelhans, 27, was born on April 2, 1988 to Roger and Pamela Appelhans in Wheat Ridge, CO. She passed away after a courageous battle with Diabetes and a Traumatic Brain Injury on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Kingwood, TX and reunited with her Aunt, Nanette Patch, and Grandfather Jack Appelhans.
Scotland is survived by her loving parents, Roger and Pamela Appelhans; sisters, Paige and Dakotah; grandparents, Janice Eckhardt, Bill Eckhardt, and Neva Appelhans; aunts, uncles, and cousins: Jeffery and Christie Eckhardt (Meredith), Mark and Kim Eckhardt (Jessica, Kellen, Liam), Jerry Patch (Michelle, David), Ernest and Ruth Appelhans, Louis and Lynette Appelhans, Dennis and Marnie Appelhans (Alex, Ginger, Dayna, David), Kenneth and Judy Appelhans (Amanda, Sara), Jacqueline and Jim Russell (Erin, Kelsey), Corinne Bogert and Aubrey Pharo (Olen, Mondrian), Timothy and Pam Appelhans (Samantha, Jessie), Daniel and Jennifer Appelhans (Andrew, Jacob, James), Ronald and Ellen Appelhans, along with numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service in Scotland's honor was held at 1PM, Monday, January 4, 2016 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm in The Gardens of Darst Funeral Home. A covered dish supper followed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Scotland to the Wild Animal Sanctuary: 1946 CO Road 53, Keenesburg, CO 80643; 303-536-0118.
An additional Memorial Service and Interment will take place in late spring in Arvada, CO and Grand Lake, CO.
