CARLTON LEE, 89
Ocala - Mr. Carlton Lee Cooley Sr., 89, passed away in Ocala, Fl. on September 30, 2009. He was born in Perry, Ga. on November 30, 1919. He was a retired dispatcher for a Cement Company. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII in the 824th Bomber Squadron. His favorite saying was "go to Burger King if you want it your way". He was a member of Ocala Worship Center. He came to this area in a two-horse wagon in 1924 from Perry, Ga. He is predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth of 49 years. He is survived by his current wife Charlotte Trull Cooley of 7 years. Two sons: Carlton L. Cooley Jr. and James D. Cooley both of Anthony, Fl. A daughter Ruth D. Allen of Anthony, Fl. One sister Thelma Lott of Fairfield, Fl. Two brothers: David N. Cooley of Belleview, Fl. and Walter Dean Cooley and his wife Minnie of Salt Springs, Fl. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A gathering of friends will take place at the Roberts Downtown Chapel 606 SW 2nd. Ave. Ocala, Fl. on Sunday October 4th from 6-8PM, with the funeral service to be held Monday at 11AM. Pastor Barney McCranie and Steve Hayden will be officiating.

Carl Cooley Sr. was Married to my Mother: Betty Shiflett-Cooley for 4-5 yrs and Carl was the sweetest, caring and kind Christian man that I could ever have wanted for my "StepDad" or Father. He was always reading his Bible and studying it, but mainly he Lived it! I will miss him greatly! My prayers and God's Blessings and Comfort to ALL the Family.

I am the granddaughter of Betty Shiflett-Cooley. For the few years before her death that Carl was in our lives, I loved him very much. He was a very kind man that inspired love in a very short time. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
