DANIEL CROSS Obituary
Ocala - Daniel "Dan" Cross, age 19, of Ocala, FL passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012.
He was born in Ocala, FL on August 31, 1992. Dan was an outgoing, funny and loyal friend to many. He would do anything for anybody.
He is survived by his mother, Jacalyn Marsh of Ocala, FL; father, Billy Cross of Ocala, FL; sister, Veronica Stokes of Ocala, FL; paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Frances Cross of Ocala, FL; maternal grandmother, Beryle Yount of Ford Cliff, PA; maternal grandfather, Jay Yount of Kittanning, PA; and several friends.
A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Church of Hope, 3233 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala, FL on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2pm. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Ocala, FL.

To Jackie, Billy, Veronica, Mary Frances, Robert, Beryle, Jay, Nancy, Zack, Ben, Betty, Mike, Jean, Sandra, and any and all family members of Dan Cross I did not remember or do not know personally:
Life is fleeting. Death teaches us that. It is something we are never ready for…even if we have time to prepare. In Dan's case, there was no preparation.
I did not know Dan. I came to the service to support my dear friend, Nancy Cross…and in the course of that…felt I came to know a small portion of Dan's life here, through a DVD shown at the church service in honor of him. The DVD on the screens showed a young man with a zest for life, with friends all around him. We should all have, and embrace that.
I believe that, because of our physical nature in life…our soul is contained in our bodies. But when we die…I believe all that energy moves to different spaces. I believe it could be between heaven and earth. I think our energy could be dispersed, and that some of our presence is left here, where we lived and in the memory of those that loved us.
If you sit/stand quietly and truly look around, you may notice “things” you did not notice before. Perhaps you notice a single flower growing in the crevice of your driveway, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, vapors in the trail of an airplane, the whisper of the wind as is moves your hair and kisses your neck, a beautiful butterfly fluttering from flower to flower, a bird looking at you, a rainbow, the moon glow shining through your window, a bright star. Whatever it is…it may be your loved one, letting you know they are OK. Life and death are the same somehow.
