DARWIN ARMS Obituary

ARMS, DARWIN LEE, 60
Darwin Lee Arms was born January 28, 1953 and died December 19, 2013.
Darwin was instrumental in helping a number of Southern Gospel singing groups getting their start throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and the West Virginia area. He organized the Bride of Christ singers in 1967 and for the next 27 years they traveled singing of Gods' love. Darwin taught school for 27 years in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida. Darwin moved to Ocala, Florida to live in peace and comfort in his retirement years. He always reminded his students to put their best foot forward.
Darwin is preceded in death by his parents Alvious Arms and Neva Williams and one son Chad Everett Arms. He is survived by one daughter Laura Jean Johnson and son-in-law Tony Johnson; one granddaughter Samantha Arms; his loving partner of eight years, Billy O'Neal. Through the years Darwin gained favor and strength from several significant caregivers, Mike Stone, Lisa Curtis, and Sean Jakaus. Darwin strived to make people happy and comfortable in any situation and for many he called it an open house policy. He will be sadly missed by a host friends and dear loved ones.

I have searched for Sweet Darwin for years. I'm so sorry to read about his passing. Wow the fun times we used to have going up to the piano practice rooms at MSU!! He could sure play and we had a great time singing gospel tunes, people would peek in to see who was playing that piano like that and who all was singing. Very fond Memories of Darwin. I still have a photo of Darwin, myself and Greg. I tell ya the trio sounded great!! Darwin was the best teacher. I know this is late. But better late than never ..aye :) RIP Darwin , love you Man

It's hard for me to think about those early days of my family coming to Christ without thinking of Darwin and his family. He brought much joy to our lives and we will miss him. Our prayers are for his family during this trying time.

Darwin was my oldest brothers boy and I remember when they brought him home from the hospital he was so small and we loved him so we carried him around on a pillow like a bady doll . I didn't get to see him as often as I would have liked but will still miss him, love you Darwin see you again someday.

It's hard for me to think of the early days of my family coming to Christ without thinking of Darwin, his family, and the folks at the Bride of Christ Church. We will remember the joy he brought and are saddened at his loss. God bless you all during this time.

I met DARWIN ABOUT 38 years ago. Our group Traveled with is family and sang. He was a good hearted, funny man loved his children. I know he will be missed so much by his daughter , Laura. My God Bless all the family and comfort them during this time of being in the valley. Let them know that where there is a valley there is a mountain top laying just ahead.
