Eugene Swift Obituary
EUGENE T. SWIFT, SR, 75, Al- state insurance Agent, retired, went home to be with The Lord on January 26, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1935 in Ocala, FL., to the Late Lieutenant Swift & Thelma Buckholtz. He graduated from Howard High School Class of 1953. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and chairman of the trustee Board of The Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory Wife, Jessie E. Swift, Ocala, FL. three Sons; Kenneth J. Swift, Orlando, FL., Reginald (Wanda) Swift, Ocala, FL., Ragene (Meeca) Swift, Jr, Ocala, FL. One daughter Debra S. Butler, Ocala, FL. two Sisters; Thelma Caroll, Atlanta, GA. and Frances Mills, Ocala, FL., thirteen Grand Children and seven great grands. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at The Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Howard, Sr, Interim Pastor Conducting the Service. Interment Lincoln Memorial Gardens Under the Direction of "Your Friends Who Care" CUNNINGHAM'S FUNERAL HOME. Visitation: Friday, January 29, 2010 10 From 9-7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home Saturday at the church one hour before Service hour No viewing after the Eulogy.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend uncle Eugene's funeral but I was with you in spirit. My condolences for the loss of a father, grandfather, uncle, husband and your longtime companion. One of the greatest men I've ever had the privledge of calling a Friend. I worked with Gene at the Post Office, and played softball with him for several years, one of the best leftys I ever saw, and a terrific first baseman. I can only vouch for one of his sons, Gene who grew up with my sons, and who was the exact same man his father was. My hats off to his Mom & Dad for doing such a great job of raising their kids. We'll meet again in Heaven Geno, as I know that is where you're going.
