Jim was probably one of the nicest people I have ever known. He has been a good neighbor and was always looking out for everybody. My sons and Caitlyn were very good friends through school. He will be missed terribly.

You touched the lives of so many. Prayers for your family both blue and blood. In all my years of working with you I never saw you frown. I could be in a horrible mood in the Comm Center and in you would walk with that million watt smile and I couldn't help but smile back. Thank you. We will see you again. Until then you and Melissa keep things straight up at Peter's gates.

This man, this Officer, this kind patient person Mr. James "Jim" Greenwell was the kindest, most patient person/officer I had the pleasure of knowing. Melissa Massimino (OPD dispatcher but in heaven right now hanging out w/ Jim)and I used to call him "Gorgeous Greenwell" because of his dimples. It was to early for you to go but God had other plans. May God in Heaven bring strength to your family in this time of sorrow. I will miss you.

I loved working with Jim. He was always smiling, happy and wonderful to be around. Always had a kind word to say, helpful and fun. I have not seen him since I retired but I will miss him. He left too early to be with the Lord,
RIP my friend and thank you for all our wonderful times working together.

We live in the neighborhood and want to convey how sorry we are for your loss. We will miss his smile, him flying his helicopters, and his friendly wave as we drove by. As a neighbor in the '50's, I knew the Greenwell family as a very close and hard working family.
I lost track when they moved away, but vividly remember the tire track on Billy's chest from his mishap of falling out of the car one day.
Jim was only about 7 years old when I left for the Air Force, and I believe the family had already moved from Hialeah.
Although curtailed, it appears Jim lived a full and fruitful life with his loving family.
My prayers and condolences.
