JOHN ROSS, 59
Ocklawaha - John Ross Duckworth, 59, of Ocklawaha passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at The Villages Regional Hospital.
Mr. Duckworth was a native of Detroit, Michigan. After moving to Orlando as a child, he gradually moved north through different business ventures and eventually settled in Ocklawaha as owner of Duck's Dam Diner.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law Coleen Duckworth and Mike Jones; son John Robert Duckworth; brother Dan Duckworth; sister Renee Millikan; grandson Colten Jones; mother Betty Isaacs; fiancé Kimberly Miller; several brothers and sisters in Michigan; and he was Papa John too many.
A funeral service will be held at 7pm on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL, 34421. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be sent at

We love Duck's, I've gone there for more than 15 years. I am glad they are going to continue the tradition that he has started. They are a true family place with great food, and the best smiles and laughs. John will be greatly missed in the forest.
