RICHARD DENNIS, 71
Ocala - Richard Dennis McMorrow, 71, passed away on April 19, 2014.
Rick was born on January 12, 1943 in Weymouth, Massachusetts to John Joseph and Esther Marie (Crone) McMorrow and moved to Tampa, Florida in the mid-1950s. After graduating from Chamberlain High School in 1960 as a standout pitcher and baseball prospect with the Minnesota Twins organization, he chose to pursue his lifelong passion as a ballroom dance instructor. He taught across the country for over 50 years settling in Ocala for the past 25 years.
He was the oldest of four children, and was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and sister Susan.
He is survived by his brother, Jack; four sons, Rick, Sean, Michael, and Christopher; daughter Chari; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and close friend of 19 years, Sose Gaudet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 14045 N Hwy 301, Citra, Florida with Father Joseph Maniangat as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2201 SE 30th Avenue, Suite 301, Ocala, Florida 34471.
