Robert Orr Obituary

ORR, ROBERT W., 72
Ocala - Former New Hampshire resident Robert "Bob" W. Orr, 72, died on February, 4th, 2012 at his home in Ocala. A service will be held at the National Military Cemetery at Bushnell, FL on Feb. 23rd at 1:30 PM with a celebration of life to follow at the VFW Post #4781 in Ocala. Mr. Orr was born March 8th, 1939 in Littleton, NH, to Wheeler and Doris Orr. He was a graduate of the Saint Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury VT where he acted as the student council president and played football, basketball and track holding many records. He was also a graduate of the Norwich Military Academy at Norwich, VT where he achieved academic honors. He served in the Unites States Army as a tank commander and spent time overseas in Korea serving his country. After military service, Mr. Orr worked in sales and distribution of laboratory and medical supplies with Scientific Products, Curtin Matheson, and Fisher Scientific, ultimately starting his own company. He was retired. He lived most of his life in the New England area. He was active in his church and served as Deacon at the Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford, NH. He moved to Florida in 2001 and has been active in the local VFW Post #4781 and the local Moose Lodge. And anyone who knew Bob knew of his passion for the New England Patriots. He is survived by his sister Barbara Young, sons Scott Orr and Timothy Orr, and grandchildren Daniel, Katie, Jonathan and Alison. Condolences may be sent to Scott Orr at 4321 Plumosa Dr., Yorba Linda, CA 92886. Donations in his honor can be made to the Children's Cancer Society, VFW Post 4781 or Odessey Hospice.
