ROBERT DANIEL, 89
Ponte Vedra Beach - Robert 'Bob' Daniel Poolman, 89, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL passed away on May 4th, 2015 in the caring hands of Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home. He was born on August 12, 1925 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Daniel H. and Catherine LaVelle Poolman. Bob was a 1943 Graduate of Christian Brother High School and later attended The University of Kansas. Bob proudly served our country in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Hornet. He was a longtime resident of Ocala, FL where he was a longtime member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala Golf Club, Ocala Dance Club, and various Bridge organizations. While living in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, he was involved with The Players Community Senior Center and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather that will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Susan and John Caserta of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, grandchildren Richard and Catherine Caserta; and brother Richard L Poolman of Genoa, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Bonnie Mae DeVaul Poolman, his sisters Dorothy R. Peden and Elizabeth C. Poolman, brother William F. Poolman and niece Kathy Kae Kimmis.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 in St. Paul's Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach, FL with Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center. Inurnment will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, May 18th in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home 4650 State Road 16, St. Augustine, FL 32092.
