Ocala - Wilfredo 'Willie' A. Comas, 89, entered into his eternal rest Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Felix A. and Sara I. Comas (Barber). He moved to Ocala, Florida from Puerto Rico in 1977, where he started Grafito Advertising with his wife, Nilda and son, Tito. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, and Syracuse University where he earned his Masters Degree in Fine Arts. Willie served in the National Guard, and was a Mason like his father and grandchild, Christian. Willie was a past Squadron Commander of the United States Power Squadron, and achieved the highest rank status, Governing Board Emeritus with 50 Merit Awards and 54 years of membership. He was also awarded Commodore Emeritus of the Ocala Yacht and Boat Club. He was an avid yachtsman, sailor, artist, designer, teacher, entrepreneur and businessman. Willie decided to retire and enjoy his life in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Nilda S. Comas and his parents, Felix and Sara.
Willie is survived by his children, Nilda M. Comas, Pedro 'Tito' Comas and Alberto J. Comas (Chayo). Willie is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to invite friends and family to celebrate Willie's life on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home Downtown Chapel 606 SW 2nd Ave Ocala, FL 34471. The visitation will be from 6pm-7pm, with a service immediately following. Refreshments and a reception will be offered at the conclusion of the service.
