HAROLD JANISZEWSKI Harold "Ski" Janiszewski, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, Michigan. Born on April 20, 1931, in Clayton Township, Arenac County, Michigan, Harold's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to service, both in his professional career and personal pursuits. Harold served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, a testament to his spirit of service and dedication to his country. Following his military tenure, he devoted 31 years of his career as a detective sergeant with the Michigan State Police, retiring in April 1987. His colleagues and community remember him not only for his professional acumen but also for his integrity and dedication to justice. Beyond his law enforcement career, Harold had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly bird hunting, where he found great joy and camaraderie in nature. After retiring, he nurtured a love for raising hunting and trail beagles, becoming an active member of several Beagle Clubs throughout the years. Harold is survived by his children, Linda Janiszewski, Mark Janiszewski, and Ruth Ann Janiszewski. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Masaru, Miari, and Cara Jo, and his brother, Harry Janiszewski. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia, his parents, Joseph and Anna (Comilski) Janiszewski, and siblings, Arthur Janiszewski, Florence Matuszak, Grace Wolda, and Joe Janiszewski. Harold Janiszewski will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to service, and love for the outdoors. He leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him and will be deeply missed.
