Died: September 6, 2021
Ronald R. Kalas, 82, of San Benito, TX, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Ronald was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Ortonville, Minnesota , the son of Raymond and Irene Kalas. On July 29, 1961, in Polo, he married Ms. Lucy Anne Kutz. Ron retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling after many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
Survivors include his daughters Pam (Brett) Faber of Polo, Julie (Jerry Cunningham) Wiegand of Belvidere; son Bill (Jesica) Kalas of Belvidere; sister-in-law Evelyn Kalas; brother-in-law Lyle Summers; grandchildren Christopher Faber, Suzanne Sarella, Zach Wiegand, Josh Wiegand, Becca Laws, William Kalas and Dalton Kalas; great grandchildren Jayden, Gracie, Luke, and Lily.
He was preceded in death by wife Lucy Anne; brother Robert Kalas; sisters Joan Summers and Mary Jean Gipe; son-in-law Keith Wiegand; two grandchildren Cody and Jordan Kalas.
A celebration of his life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at Faith United Methodist Church in Polo. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
