Allan D. Feit

Allan D. Feit, age 65, of Barneston passed away on November 26, 2016 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln. He was born in Beatrice on September 5, 1951 to John Michael and Viola (Morris) Feit.

Al was a 1969 graduate of Southern High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from UNL in Math and Science Education. He taught for a few years after graduation, but spent the rest of his life as a chemist compounder for Goodyear and Patch Rubber. He also owned his own consulting firm, Alf Consulting.

On February 16, 1980, Al married M. Christine Warren. Al was a past master and member of College View Masonic Lodge, Past Chair of ACS Rubber Division, member of Scottish Rite, SAE, and Jaycees; coached t-ball, baseball, flag football, and was a licensed referee. He was a member of Eastridge Presbyterian Church in Lincoln where he was very involved with their youth programs including teaching Sunday School and being a Skipper for the Mariners group. He was also a Chief of the Y Indian Guides. He enjoyed flowers, the river, his black labs - Shadow and Cindar, fishing, books on CD, board games, science, and Nebraska football. Al loved people, but he especially loved holidays with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Chris; sons, John Feit and wife Amelia of Odell and Nathan Peterson of Lincoln; mother, Viola Poppen of Wymore; father-in-law, William Warren of Wymore; brother, Bob Feit and wife Mary of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Sarah Collins and husband Dan of Larned, Kans.; brothers-in-law, Tim Warren and wife Kelly of Topeka, John Warren and Gary Wait of Lexington, Kentucky, and Thad Warren and wife DeAnn of Seward; eight nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; two grand kitties; a host of extended family and friends, and his beloved dog, Shadow. His father, mother-in-law, step mother-in-law, stepfather, and a niece preceded him in death.

Memorial services for Al will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Wymore Presbyterian Church with Jon Palmquist officiating. Inurnment will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery.

A guest book will be available to sign on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, with family greeting relatives and friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Blue Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Beatrice Humane Society with the funeral home in charge.
