Amy Klein Obituary

Amy Comunale Klein

Amy Comunale Klein, 45, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, after a brave and courageous journey against cancer.

Amy was the daughter of Gertrude and the late Frank Comunale. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Julia Clarke Klein and Emma Chloe Klein and their father, Jeff Klein. Amy was the loving sister of Frank, Michele, Steve (Jane), Martha, David (Sue), Mark (Kelly) Comunale, Milissa (Marco) Meyo and Monica (Greg) Stevens. Her beloved nieces and nephews are Amanda, John, Elliot, Molly, Sarah, Mark Joseph, Annabelle, and Joey Comunale, Martha Mary, Frank, Anthony, and Katherine Meyo.

Amy was a graduate of The Ohio State University and a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Amy's enthusiasm for life and vibrancy was evident in her many volunteer activities including the Junior League, Ohio Ballet, Akron Art Museum, Akron City Hospital, and Our Lady of The Elms. Amy was a successful jewelry designer and her many hand made pieces were sold across the country.

Amy's warm smile, kindness and compassion were evident in everything she did. Amy's legacy is her two beautiful daughters; her beauty, spirit, energy and love of life will live on forever in their hearts. Julia and Emma meant everything to Amy and were the source of her greatest joy and happiness. Amy was a wonderful mother and her life was dedicated to her daughters. Amy made sure that their life was balanced with education, laughter, friendship, music, dance, a love of reading, school activities and sports.

Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. on Monday from 3 TO 8 p.m. Cremation to follow. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church with Fr. Samuel Ciccolini officiating. Private interment of ashes at Holy Cross Cemetery. I was recently informed of Amy's passing and feel as though I have lost part of my youth. The Comunale Family was a big part of my life for several years and there was a time I considered their house as my second home. I always felt welcome.
Mark and Amy were great friends and we experienced alot together.
I will be keeping this great family in my thoughts and hope you look to each other in dealing with your loss.

Emma and Julia
I have wanted to sign your mother's guest book from the day I heard that she had passed into non-physicality. When Amy was in kindergarten and first grade, she was in my son Nicky's room and she liked him and kept asking him to stay all night at her house. Then one day Gertrude called me and ask if he could spend the night there at their home. He never did spend the night but Gertrude and I would take Nicky and Amy to their Catholic instructions at St. Sebastains and while they were there we would shop or have coffee. Then we moved to the north side of town and ecentually lost touch with each other. Even then your mother was just the sweetest little girl. I have read the wonderful things that all the people have said about her and it makes me feel sad the I did not know her all these years. I am so happy that she was a success and had wonderful children to be a wonderful mother to.

As you pass into non-physicality, you instantly regain perfect health. You may call upon your mother at any time for the love and support that you need. Sometimes when I get up in the morning, I call upon my non-physical realm that surrounds me. I say "HELP ME CREATE MY DAY SO THAT EVEN I WILL BE SURPRISED, BUT YET I WILL KNOW FROM WHERE IT CAME". I have had some really surprising days.

May you be blessed and may your life and memories hold all things good!

Dear Gertrude

We sympathize with you deeply, and we pray that you will endure this sad event in your life. It has been so long since we have seen one another. We wish that we would know where you live now, and also know your telephone number so that we could speak. We remember the Vets Wives club parties at your house, with Amy and her sisters and brothers running in and out of the house and around the yard; those were happier days. Our son, Jim, died four years ago; he was forty three years old, so we have the similar sad feelings.

God bless you, Gertrude, and may Amy rest in peace with the Lord.

Dear Comunale and Klein family,

I am so, so sad and sorry for your loss...Amy was so beautiful and so full of life and joy and happiness. Amy was my sorority sister at OSU, and I feel so blessed to have known her...She had an amazing gift to make others laugh, all with a sense of style and sassy rebellion. Amy had a way of lighting up a room when she walked in...always with a smile and her laugh. What a gift she was to all of us whether as a friend, sister, daughter, wife, Aunt, niece or Mom... May God comfort you and bring you peace during this sorrowful time and may her joyfulness continue to live on in each of you.

Jeff, I am so sorry that you lost your sweetheart. There are no words that express how much it must hurt to lose her.
Emma and Julia, I'm so sorry you lost your mom. As a teacher at the Elms I got to spend a few evenings talking with your mom and dad. They were always saying just the right thing to make me feel proud of what I did teaching their girls. Emma and Julia, your mom had a way of smiling at you that made you feel like you were someone amazing and special. We all will miss that loving smile of hers. I am so grateful that so much of her goodness and beauty lives on in you two. You both are so much like her. You made her so proud of you so often. You will make her proud of you all the rest of your lives. Your family has their very own saint in heaven to pray for you.
