BARBERTON Barbara M. Ock er, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2002, after a brief ill ness.

She was born in Glastonbury, England, on Nov. 2, 1922. She was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Elsie Haimes; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Doris Haimes; and step son, Jerry Ocker, she is survived by her husband of 37 years, Edward (Ed) Ocker; daughter, Kathleen Bryan of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Denny (Diane) Burdette of Cassellberry, Fla.; stepdaughters, Donna (Ray mond) Wilkerson of Akron, Karen (William) Tipton of Green; stepson, Wes (Armida) Ocker of Santa Ana, Calif.; granddaughters, Monty (Mi chael) Iemma of Cuyahoga Falls, Kimberly (Larry) Haines of North Canton, Nikki Gray of Florida, Sher rie (Adam) Zalesny of Las Vegas, Shiree Ocker of California; grand sons, Steven Tipton of Akron, David Ward of Florida, Eric Ocker of Cali fornia; great-grandchildren, Alexan dria Iemma, Kaitlyn and Christo pher Haines, Alex and Victoria Zalesny, and Rain and Gavin Bitton. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at the Hospice Care Center for their excel lent care and concern.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Pastor Abner Castanon officiating.
