Benjamin White Obituary

Benjamin C. White

Benjamin White, age 27, died unexpectedly on January 1, 2018.

Ben graduated from Firestone High School in 2008 and Ohio University in 2012. He was employed at Akron Legal News for two years as Associate Editor. In May of 2017, he graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, cum laude. In October he began his career at Jones Day in Cleveland.

Ben's formative years were spent at Summit Christian School, where the teachers and staff guided him through his spiritual and academic growth. They encouraged his thirst for knowledge, which was never-ending.

He loved his family in Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, and beyond and treasured the time he had together with them. His parents, John and Carol, and his extended family will miss him dearly. He loved and remained close to his high school friends - Zeff, Alex, Mike, Sam and countless others who enriched his life. He so much enjoyed his time at Jones Day and all the people he worked with. The staff at Akron Legal News, especially Susie (Jim), were so helpful and encouraging as he began his pursuit of Law.

There will be no calling hours. Instead, may we suggest that you gather together with family or friends and share the happy memories you had with Ben - his great sense of humor, love of sports, love for the law, and a good healthy debate. No flowers, please. Instead, show acts of kindness and love toward others. Ben would have liked that. To share a Memory or Send a Condolence visit the Tribute Wall at www.billowfuneralhomes.com. My sincerest condolences. I was law school classmates with Ben. I just moved back to Chicago after finishing a clerkship and thought to look up my friend, and see how things have been for him. I am so sorry to hear he has passed. He was one of the kindest individuals at the school and someone I greatly enjoyed hanging out with. He was very down-to-earth and easy to get along with. He brought me to a White Sox game with tickets he got from the law firm he was summering at that I'll never forget because he graciously let me sit on the aisle and a few minutes later I caught a foul ball. I am going to miss him and not being able to start our careers together.

Dear John and Carol -- Words cannot express our sadness for your loss. Ben was a wonderful young man and we thought the world of him. We have great memories of the time he spent with us and our kids-- just hanging at our house or watching him enjoy the thrills of the rides at Kings Island, especially Drop Zone :) You have much to be proud of -- he achieved so much in his short life and you should always feel blessed that you had him for the time you did. He touched us all.

Love you guys.
