To the Bodine Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I just heard of Brian's passing today.

I have not seen Brian since we were small children at St.John's, but your family has often been in my mind over the last 25 years. Brian was a great kid who was friendly, kind and had a sweet smile.

I often see a young man who reminds me of him in passing and have even asked him over the years "are you sure you are not Brian Bodine from St.John's?"

Your family has lost so much over the years and my heart and prayers to you. His sister greeted him in Heaven as the angles brought him to Christ.

May the Lord give you strength, especially during the holidays. Remember, that God has a plan for all of us, and while it is hard to know his reasoning, his plan is perfect and his love surrounds you all.

I recall when we were in school and and how especially helpful you were to me and my family. I only wish I had also come to know Bo as well. From what I do know, he was as special as his dad in helping people and was loved by all. I feel such grief and sorrow for your loss.

Bo had this way of making a bad day good and a good day better. He just had this positive energy about him. There simply aren't enough people like Bo in this world. Rock on brother "Bodini", I feel fortunate to have been able to call you a friend. Anyone who was lucky enough to know you is a better person for it.

I always looked forward to running into BO because I knew I'd be greeted with that great smile and a huge hug. He even had that great smile when I wrecked his moped at the Park, no kidding. He was genuinely concerned and didn't get mad. His smile and kind heart will be missed. I know his friends and family will wrap their arms around Brady and will watch over him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the Bodine family,
Even though I haven't been in contact with Brian in over 20 years, my heart is broken by this tragic loss. He was such a huge part of my life growing up together on Herberich Street and attending all 8 years at St. John's. I will always have the honor of sharing my first kiss with him when we were about 8 years old. I don't think there was ever I time that I didn't have a school girl "crush" on him. He was so pure of heart, beautiful (in-side and out) and I will always love him.

I remember the very first time I met Bo. It was a perfect summer day. He was one of Firestone Park's infamous "moped boys". As I got on the back of his to take a ride, he began to warn me about the hot exhaust pipe. But it was too late, and I had already burned my leg on it. He apologized over and over, bandaged the burn and helped me get home. Bo's concern for me was so sincere even at that young age that not only did he leave a mark on my leg that afternoon, he left a mark on my heart as well. I'm blessed that our friendship continued for many, many years after that.
Bo was one of the kindest people I have ever known. Happiness radiated from him. I can still see the smile on his round face and hear his giggle that was
contagious.
My deepest sympathy to his family, friends and especially his beautiful little boy. I am so sorry he had to leave too soon. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers while Bo remains in all of our hearts.

It started with a truck… “The Bean” (I think all of your vehicles had nicknames.) I can still see all of your friends names carved in the dashboard. I remember you teaching me how to drive a stick shift in the parking lot at Garfield. Teaching me how to ride a 4-Wheeler and sledding off the back of one. Spending time at Tic-Toc’s house and of course "Mr.T". Hiking at Firestone Metro, listening to LL Cool J, Depeche Mode and The Tom Tom club really loud in whatever car you happened to be driving. Riding on your motorcycle. Hanging out with all of our friends, going to Dragway 42 and Club 22. I remember Annemarie and I chasing you and Jimmy in my station wagon that was about to blow up- not so funny then- but it really made us laugh as adults.

I remember the day Brady was born- I got to the hospital right after he came – you were so excited and proud you said “He Has Crazy Long Hair-He is so cute- This is so awesome!!!!”. From that moment- you carried the same excitement for Brady and he for you. I am so happy that our sons are the same age- it afforded me the opportunity to stay in touch with you and see you often. I will always keep your memory alive for Brady- he needs to remember what a fantastic father you were.

When I helped you load “The Piece” on the trailer at the end of summer, I could have never imagined that would be the last good memory I would have with you- you were making fun of me trying to push it up the ramp and pieces of rust kept falling off we were laughing so hard but we got it on there… so it ended with a truck...

I am so blessed to have known you, lucky enough to be your friend and fortunate enough to have nothing but great memories of you.

Brady, Heather, Sue, Jeff, Barry, Debbie and Stephanie my heart is broken for all of you- You are in my thoughts and prayers.

October 30, 2009

To all family and friends of Brian my deepest sympathy,

Tuesday night I sat quietly at the hospital with my son-in-law Jimbo, Jimmy Price and Brian’s family as Brian passed away. No words can explain the helplessness that a parent or a friend has when there is nothing that they can do to save their loved one. Brian was a healthy outgoing fit young man. He was a great father, a son and friend. As I sat there quietly praying to myself for everyone there. I prayed that Brian Bodine was saved and that God met him on his journey. After I said that prayer Jimbo and Jimmy said Brian went to Catholic school until eighth grade. All though we all are sinners and will always be, once we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior he never lets us go. He may let us fall but he picks us up. God was there to pick Brian up and carry him to paradise. I am certain Brian is in Heaven praying for each and everyone of his loved ones that they will follow him there one day. I prayed for the family that God would bring them a peace that passes all understanding. I prayed for Brian’s six- year old son Brady that somehow God will walk with him all his days. Although he has lost a father here we will always have our heavenly Father. I prayed that family and friends will help lead his son in Godly ways to assure him of this. Being there and witnessing what the family and friends went through that night my heart pours out to you. That night to me just brought it home how fragile life here is. No one has ever cheated death. We will all die one day some sooner than others. All of the treasures of this earth are temporary. At the end of our days what we have at our deathbed is family and friends. I thank God that Brian had the gospel introduce to him at a young age. I pray that the family and friends do not blame God but thank him for welcoming Brian to the new beginning of life forever and ever in Heaven above knowing that one day if they believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior they will see Brian again.

Sincerely

Ken Boldt

Bo "cool" Dine, our group has been through so much along the way, we've had a really tough year. My heart goes out to Brady and all of the Bodine family. Bo has brought us so many memories that will never be forgotten. From Daytona Beach to Fernette, every spring break, bike week, concert and party in between. He was up for and in for, evey trip and event, he loved and lived so much life! Bo was our Evil Knievel. From the seat of his hotrods, motorcycles (purple rain and captain america) and even an airplane, he has seen the world. Bo was a pro motorcycle racer, pilot ,D.J. and self proclaimed rock star, but the coolest thing I ever seen him do was be a DAD, you could tell Brady and Bo had a friendship and brotherhood that was rare to see, with a child so young. They were truly friends. Bo said the only thing cooler than Brady "was flying with Brady" The guy brought so much laughter and antics to the group, will be hard to forget. Bo all your boys love you and even though you were the first to go, WE WILL ALL SOMEDAY, BE TOGETHER IN PARADISE, MY FRIEND.
