Almost 9 years ago my husband Gordon and I moved to Twin Lakes. Marilyn and Charles were the first people at a neighborhood picnic to wave us over and say hello. The friendliness of the Beckwith family continues with casual encounters in the neighborhood or at the orchard.
We will always have fond memories! Mary and Gordon MacDowell

I just now learned of Charlie's passing; sorry I did not find out earlier and be able to have some input. He and I were coworkers at Dow, though he was much my senior member. I was the " newbie" product manager for the primary product Charlie sold to key customers in the later years of his career. I had the honor of traveling with him on his last week with Dow Chemical. On his final call on Chemlawn we entered the entered their headquarters campus welcomed by an entrance billboard that read " Thank You Charlie Beckwith" . Upon our arrival , Chemlawn shut down for the rest of the day and had a party in their employee cafeteria- open bar and all. Charlie was presented with Chemlawn service awards and lots of accolades. Everyone there knew and loved Charlie, executives and secretaries alike. It was a most memorable experience for me. I have many other Charlie Beckwith stories I would love to tell to anyone who would like to listen. I have told Charlie Beckwith stories to complete strangers and family members alike. One time on a beach in Florida and one time on a flight in Canada I have encountered complete strangers who knew Charlie and stories commenced. If any family members would like to hear them, I offer my contact information.

When I worked for the Kent State police Department I would lunch at the orchard and visit with Charlie, my grandmother took me to the original orchard back in the 50s.I would swap Lake Erie Perch for Charlie's apples.
