I recently saw this obituary and was saddened to hear of his passing. Have fond memories of Cy as a 2LT in Wurzburg. Thoughts and prayers are with Tina and the rest of his family.

Like Bryan I remember Cy from our early days in A-1. He was a genuinely happy, kind, and brilliant friend. Quite a few of us remember his smile and his generous help on tough projects. Our class mourns his loss, please accept our deepest condolences.

As a retired Project Manager I suppose I speak for the multitudes of retirees and current employees that worked with Cy over the many decades. He was always approachable, greeting everyone with a smile. He always looked at the good side of things and had a great sense of humor. He was very smart and discerning, always realistic and practical, with a keen sense of right and wrong in the work he provided his coworkers and the company. He understood the needs of others including boiler designers, heavy manufacturing, project management, and even utility customers. He was one of those people that helped make going to work bearable. It has been said by people that worked directly for him, “best boss I ever had.” He was a company man and definitely one of the good ones. To the family, please know Cy provided great value to the many lives he touched and we are saddened by his departure. A couple of thoughts paraphrased from one smarter than I. Weeping may last for the night but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. May you experience His peace which surpasses all understanding in this time.

Cy was one of the nicest, friendliest, easy-going guys I knew. I have been telling people that Cy was the kind of guy you didn't need to know really well to like him--you just did. He was always quick with a smile and a kind word and his presence at work during the pandemic was always a welcome sight. I can't imagine his family's sense of loss, but I will surely miss him and his absence will be felt every day. Sending prayers, best wishes, peace, and comfort to everyone dealing with the loss of Cy from their lives. God bless.
