Darrell Marsden Obituary

January 2, 1945

September 26, 2012

Darrell passed away peacefully after a well-fought battle with cancer, with his loved ones by his side.

He was preceded in death by mother and father, Ruth and Bruce Marsden, and wife, Yvonne. He is survived by his dear, beloved Mary Webb, who was lovingly devoted to him; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Allison Marsden; grandchildren, Wesley and Kobi (the little guys); sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tom Turner; nieces and nephews, Bronlynn and Kyle Eberhardt, Grant Turner, Kimmy and David Csepe; great-nephew and niece, Logan and Colbie; cousin, Jim Bob (his brother) Marsden and wife Jane; and his family in Canada.

Darrell's interests included golfing with his friends from the American Legion Post 281 and fishing with Larry McCoy, Tony Bittner, and David Bittner. He had a love for animals and will be sadly missed by his dog, Buffy Marie.

A family memorial service with military honors will take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls, on Saturday, September 29 at 11 a.m. Per his request, Darrell's ashes will be scattered at his family's reservation in Alderville First Nation, Ontario, where his memorial will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to America's Vet Dogs at www.vetdogs.org.

I knew the Marsden's when they resided in Cuyahoga Falls. They lived behind us. I remember Butch as someone who always seemed happy and was quick to smile-laugh. Truly sorry to hear of his passing.

You have my deep and sincerest condolences. "Butch" and I were good friends when we were in our early teens. I visited Canada with the family in their 56 Buick. I ran into Butch in later years as were both in the rubber machinery industry. I remember his mom chasing us with a broom when we were bad. He will be sadly missed.

Debbie,

I was sadden to learn of the passing of Butch. He was one of my best friends when we were young boys. I lived on Sawyer Ave and would go over to Pitkin to play and get in trouble. I also remember going with your father and Butch to the Akron Municipal Airport and getting on the company plane that you dad maintained.

My sympathy to you and your family.
