David Aley Obituary

David Lee Aley

David Lee Aley, 74, passed away May 21, 2016 after a long illness.

Born in Youngstown and raised in Howland, he graduated from Howland High School and served in the USMC. He attended The Ohio State University and graduated from UCLA and worked at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Los Angeles, Topeka, and Akron to support his beloved family.

Predeceased by his parents, William and Ruth Heimbaugh; adoptive parents, Myron and Virginia Aley; and sister, Charlene Warr; he is survived by his sister, Mariellen; brothers, William and Robert; wife, Norma; son, Jeff; and daughter-in-law, Connie. He had many close friends whom he loved as grandchildren.

Dave was a man of great intellect and was a pioneering user of home computers. He taught himself several computer programming languages and wrote programs for finance and genealogy. He was also a man of great humor and was fond of writing funny stories and poems. He often repeated, "It doesn't have to be true, so long as it's funny."

Dave enjoyed hiking in the mountains of Northern California and sailing on San Francisco Bay. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and baseball.

He will be greatly missed until the day we are reunited in heaven.

May family and friends of Dave find peace during this difficult time. Dave was the friend of my older brother (also Dave) in high school but always took time to acknowledge a little sister. I have only fond memories of his kindness. Evelyn Dabelko Cruze

Norma, Jeff, Connie & family, So very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was one of kind and a wonderful friend & co-worker. He will be missed. We have great memories of his stories. He was always willing to share his knowledge with all of us. He had to be reminded to slow down his speech so we could understand what he was trying to tell us. Please find comfort in knowing we care. He continues to live on in each of us!! Dear friend RIP till we meet again, when its our time...Prayers, hugs & love
