David Baughman Obituary
David Lee Baughman Sr., 68, passed away unexpectedly April 5, 2015.
An avid reader and competitive athlete, his contagious smile and laughter were enjoyed by many friends and will be dearly missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents, Moyd and Dorothy (Dykes) Baughman, David is survived by his wife, Valerie; children, Michael (Carissa) Burns, Michelle Fela, Nick Novselich, Lena (Franklin) Baughman-Compton, Lesley (Terry) Wyszynski, and David Baughman II; sister, Donne Huber; grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Seth, Silas, Dorothy, Barbara, Rodney, and Corey; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and beloved dog, Roxy.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with memorial service at 3 p.m., at Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 E. Market Street, Akron). In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Valerie Baughman at 796 Newton Street, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 to help offset funeral expenses The family will have a benefit May 17, 2015, 1 p.m., at Ripper's Rock House (2727 Manchester Road, Akron). Hey Baughman, It's been a while. I wish you were here Daddy. I miss us no one got me like you. Times are tough all over. I'm a grandma now she is so precious! It made me change my entire way of thinking and living. She is a blessing. She is a Mae for Grandma isn't that cool! Dorothy is such a good mom you'd be amazed! James is a great dad you'd love him I know I do. I miss you Daddy!! I am trying to live by God's law and let me tell ya it's harder than I imagined. When you really get right and begin to accept you our sinful nature and wish to correct this man that is humbling. It's crazy I wish we could talk all about it. I love you Baughman!

Well just stoped by to say Hi!! I been having a hard time lately. Lost my Kona last month on the 1st and it has been ruff on me. Haven't read any books sense you've passed, maybe I need to, but who would I have to tell my thoughts to about it who would genuinely be as interested. I really am happy that we was able to get a lot close when I got older. The last years together and was able to be each other and enjoy all our time together. Even if we didn't get to see each other all the time even our talks on the phone was super important to me and meant the world to me.
I am trying g to get my business off the ground it hasn't been easy and it is slow. Kinda scary to be honest but I have to remember to push through the fear. I am going to do a funky new hair style tomorrow and it will show off my grey. Well Daddy I love and miss you xo tell everyone I said hi and tc of my animals.. kona is always a nervous nelly so help her out.

Dave,
I have been thinking about you alot lately. I know it was a year since you passed because I was in a nursing home recovering from surgery when everything happened and that has been 1 yr. A lot has changed in that time and there are so many times I wish you were here. I'm sorry I haven't got to see Lena but I think about her and try to watch her posts on Fb. I dif reach out when I got sprung from the NH but I couldn't drive for 6 months so I didn't get to see anyone. I still think of that last phone conversation we had when you were out of town and how prevalent it pertains to life now. You were so wise and had such great insight. I really miss you my friend and wish you were here for your kids. I have friends that see David and tell me what a nice young man (didn't expect anything different) he is and handsome. I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know you were on my mind my friend and I knew the anniversary had just happened. Lena if you see this, thinking of you and all of your siblings and love you. Your dad was a great friend. Since I couldn't be there last year and left a message, I decided to leave my friend a message this year too. BTW tell my brother Ron I miss him and love him. Still think of you when I see a darn dictionary!

Oh how I miss you. Today makes a year. I move along everyday but something just isn't the same, that something is you not being here. Sometimes I going on about my way and it hits me like a ton of bricks, your gone. I know I know only in the physical form but it still hurts so bad. I talk to you and I pray for you. I hope you can see me and what is going in my life and your proud. You are always my number one fan! Last year was such a hard year losing everyone and mostly you. I know you are all up there together and that brings me comfort. Now you don't have to read anymore or do research, you now know. I long for the day I see your face again but I still got some stuff to do here. I was in class the other day and one of the girls had just lost her sister and she so beautifully said they had to go because it was their time to help us in a different way, Their job here was done and they have a new one now. I like that thought. We will talk again, just wanted to say hi and that I love you.

It has been almost a year. It doesn't seem real. I miss you so much! It feels weird being alive without you. My heart is missing a piece. You never stopped being my hero to me you did no wrong. You gave me unconditional love and for that I am grateful! I wish I could dream of you it might help.I hope you are with Grandma and Grandpa. Aunt Donna misses you all so much! She is sad and lonely without you all. We all are really. I will keep on trucking along its all I can do but Daddy it hurts. I miss you so!!

It truly seems unreal to me your gone. I am really going to miss you. My world will never be the same. A piece of my heart is gone. A piece of the family is gone. Dave and I were really close friends at THS. Good memories was Dave's sense of humor and his laugh which was contagious. A fond memory was when his parents were gone for awhile he would sneak out his Dads white Jag convertible and we would cruise all over. So many good memories, I will always remember Dave as a fun loving guy who loved life. Rest in peace my friend.

Dr Baughman as Bo and I refered to you as. You were an awesome man who made everyone who was ever in a room with you smile, and I was one of those people. I remember when I was dating Bo and he wanted me to meet his friend Dave and it was so funny that when he introduced us that I found out that you were married to a wonderful woman from my younger years named Val. I was so happy to see her again and you and I became close friends. I remember in our wild years of going to your home after we all were out and somehow the Dictionary came out and it was on!.HAHAHA. To this day anytime I see a dictionary I smile and laugh thanks to you. I also want you to know how grateful our whole family was and is to this day because you helped my husband regain his eye sight and NEVER lose it again thanks to you. You turned Bo onto an herb called bilberry and he takes it ever day for the rest of his life and has never had an episode of blindness again thanks to you "DR B"! I also grew to have so much respect for you because of your loyalty to your family and friends who needed your compassion. Your smile was contagious and your laugh memorable. You know I will always be here for your family especially Valerie, Lena, and David as I know them the best. I am here for all of them. My wish for you is to be at peace with no more pain. You know Kathy and I will hold Val up as much as we can. Thank you Dave for always being my friend even through a few tough times in my life. Please keep my brother Ron company and someday I will see you on the other side. So glad Beau and David talk and Beau will be there anytime for your son as I will be. Love you Dave! ❤❤

Valerie, David, Nick, and Family,
Marcie and I have had you all in our thoughts and prayers for years, but especially since we found out about David's heart surgery.
D.B. taught me many things. One of the most important was that in all black clouds there is a wonderful silver lining. His smile and demeanor brightened even the darkest rooms he ever walked into. He is only one of a very small number of men that never, never, told me something that he did not deliver on. He is my friend. I am a better man for having known him.
