Dora V. Casenhiser

) THEN AND NOW Dora V. Casenhiser (Hiter), 99, passed away December 31, 2020 in Wadsworth, Ohio. She was born August 25, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles and Pearl Hiter, and graduated from Akron South High School in 1939. Dora had many fond memories of working at Summit Beach Amusement Park in Akron, including meeting her husband, Bill. Together, Dora and Bill enjoyed horseback riding, including riding in local parades, as well as showing in and judging at local equestrian competitions. Dora was also a talented artist, a published poet, and an avid singer, having been a longtime member of Sweet Adelines International. Dora is survived by her devoted great niece, Amanda Wood; her grandson, Joseph Casenhiser; her niece, Martha Garbinski; her nephews, Robert (Chris), Clarence "Whitey" (Terrie), and Jerry Casenhiser; and close friends, Lois Chapman and Marie Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband William; her son, Joseph; and her sister, Thelma. The family would like to thank the staff of "Sanctuary of Wadsworth" for their support, care, and love for "Grandma." Private family services have already been held. Interment took place at Emanuel High Church Cemetery, 16 Eastern Road in Doylestown, OH 44230. Bacher - Norton (330 825-3633
