The Simone family welcomed me as their youngest son "Ronnie's" first wife even though it was a package deal because I came with my young son "Michael" whom the Simone's quickly fell in love with and treated the both of us with an enormous amount of love and kindness! Michael was adopted by Ronnie approximately 4 years before Ronnie and I had our youngest child "Kelly Anne". This is merely one example of the character of this Simone family. I remember my own mother telling me many times that my little girl looked just like Doris Simone!! Even after Ron and I divorced, Doris was still wonderful to me...she would introduce me as Ronnie's X. God Lover! She taught me how to make Italian Wedding Soup as well as "Pizzelles" an addicting Italian cookie!
Doris always greeted me with a smile and Kelly and I would work on her hair. I'd cut it and Kelly would curl and style it.
What I thought of today was that Doris is finally at peace as she has joined her own daughter Donna, son Ronnie, grandchild Kelly and husband Joe in her passing.
Doris was very family oriented and losing her loved ones completely destroyed her. As Doris cried-grieving for her daughter Donna I witnessed gut wrenching human pain from deep in her heart...and soul...too much to handle. I hope I never witness anything like that again in my lifetime. Doris suffered so much and her pain immeasurable I am actually very happy for her now....because I know that they are all up there laughing and having a good time....and deservingly so!

I have nothing but the best memories of Aunt Doris and Uncle Joe. It was a treat going to their house on Hayden Ave., playing with our cousins and walking to the corner for an ice cream cone...It's good, her and Uncle Joe are back together again.....

Doris leaves a legacy of love that she has touched so many lives with. Her impact in mine as well as my families will be rememebered for eternity. I am so grateful to have had the honor to be a part of her life. She truly was the meaning of maternal devotion.

Cousin Joe,
I have so many great memories of Aunt Doris & Uncle Joe. One of the most comical ones was how my mom and Aunt Doris would fight over the check whenever they went out to lunch! Mary Alice and I jokingly carry on that tradition!
I cherish all the memories.

Dear family of Joe and Doris Simone, please accept my sympathy. Joe and Doris are old friends; we were members of the St Sebastian Catholic War Veterans. I always enjoyed their company. May Doris and Joe rest in peace.

I would like to share some personal thoughts. My Grandmother was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, she attended St. Sebastians for many years. She attended many Akron area Italian Clubs. She was very family oriented and very generous. She was also preceded in death by her youngest Granddaughter, Kelly Ann Simone. She was extremely close with Kelly, who always took the time to help Grandma with her hair.

Cousin Joe,
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Doris, who was a wonderful aunt and godmother. She could be so ornery and feisty, all of which made her so much fun at times. Some of my fondest memories are from childhood, visiting her and Uncle Joe on Hayden Avenue then on Elm Street. I keep you in my thoughts.
