My Dearest Laura;

40 years may have kept us apart, but our friendship has grown dearer.I wish that I could hold you and your son and tell you how very sorry I am that you should both have this loss so early in life.May God speak to you in that still small voice, and mend your heart, and ease your mind, to a calming peace.Until I can be with you on July 30th,know that you and yours will be in my thoughts and in my every prayer.

Dear Laura,

I am so deeply saddened and still in shock by the loss of Doug. He was more than a cousin - he mostly felt like a brother and he will be missed beyond words. I have so many wonderful fun memories of Doug as a child growing up in Kenmore as neighbors. I will remember my visits to Akron and our many conversations which were always filled with his wonderful sense of humor. These memories will remain forever. Please know that you, Tom, Aunt Dolores, Denny and Kay and the many others who were touched by Doug's kindness, sweetness, and gentleness are in my prayers and thoughts. I am so sorry I am so far away and unable to be there; however, please let me know if I can help in some way even at this distance. Love, Doreen

Dear Laura,

I was just talking to my sister last week about getting a group together and renting a house at the beach. I told her about the wonderful time we had at Wrightsville Beach with you, Doug, Tommy and all the others years ago.

I hadn't run into Doug for a couple of years, but remember him with fondness. You and Tom are in my prayers.
