Eileen Ashcraft

Eileen Ashcraft, 85, passed away peacefully Monday, April 13, 2009 at home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle from numerous medical complications.

Eileen was born in Itman, W.Va. on March 30, 1924. She was retired from First Merit Bank and later moved to South Carolina to live with her daughter. She attended South Strand Christian Church in Surfside Beach, SC.

Preceded in death by parents, George and Bonnie Ashcraft; infant daughter, Kathleen; sisters, Flora Jo, Mary Lou, Kathleen. Survived by brother, George; her five children, Eileen (Jay) Bevington Gary (Hanne) Hakin, Lorraine (Donald) Ball, Mary Lou (Thomas) Sadler, Kay (Dwayne) Durieux; adopted daughter, Patricia Morgan; 19 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Mom loved to dance and listen to country music. She also loved being with her grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to South Strand Christian Church in Surfside Beach, S.C. in lieu of flowers.
