I always enjoyed seeing Ethel Chambers at work at the various community meetings including the Akron League of Women Voters, that we both attended. She was always on point and persistent in making her concerns relevant and consistent with the matter under consideration. Her perseverance over the many years I have known her was most admirable. A great role model for future community leaders. My condolences to family and close friends.

Ethel was a Second Mother to me when I moved to Akron in 2000. We shared a passion for Women's History. Her own passion for her family and this community is unparalleled. I was blessed to have her enter my life, and she will be sorely missed. Akron is a better community because of the life of Ethel Span Chambers. May she rest in peace

Be at peace our sister, Ethel.
