To the Banas Family: I extend my sincere sympathy for your loss and hope you are doing ok. As a young person, I caddied for Gary on a regular basis on Saturdays in the early to mid 70s. I was always there early and passed other jobs sooner in the day to have the opportunity to work for Gary and Frank Lucas. I enjoyed them so much and they were such class acts. Gary's outlook and life, humor, and the way he treated me and others were top notch. Sounds corny but my life was enriched every Saturday just being around him. I knew his game so well that he'd ask my advice at times or I'd just give him a look if he selected the wrong club. He was a respected and significant presence in my life.

It has been such a pleasure knowing your family over the years. Our family has had the highest repect for the faith, honor, humilty and intelliegence of the Banas family. Gary was a prime example of how a Christian should live his life. Bonny is his equal in all things. He served at Cathleen's wedding and came to visit my mother in her last months. He did evrything and anything to serve God. We praise his memory and raise you all to feel God presence with your grief. Much love

I enjoyed meeting Gary and Bonny while working at Rose Lane. Gary was always willing to share a smile, a laugh, or even a coveted Oreo cookie! He loved to show me the picture on his pillow case of his grandchildren and tell me their names. I consider it a privilege to have witnessed your extraordinary love for one another, and pray that your memories will carry you through this difficult time.

When I thank the Lord for the people who instructed me in my youth, Gary and Bonny Banas are right up at the top of the list. I have such wonderful memories: being in Gary's Sunday School class, youth group fun, writing a play with Gary, visiting at his house, and the encouragement offered at the beginning of our marriage. Gary was a blessing to so many. He will certainly be missed. May God comfort you all in the coming days.

Gary was really my first "mentor" as a lawyer at the Buckingham firm. I learned a lot from him...including not to take yourself too seriously. He was a wonderful lawyer and a wonderful teacher.
