Harry Yee, 73, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2007, after a courageous, yet brief, battle with cancer
The celebration of Harry Yee's life began on October 17, 1934. He was a life-long resident of Akron.
Affectio-nately referred to as "Unk" by his many nieces and nephews, Harry led a life full of fun, adventure, selflessness and generosity. He had a voracious appetite for food and life.
Along his journey, he met Fue Lane--his love, his wife of 41 years. From this union with Lane arrived his joy, Janice, with whom they shared a special bond. Calling every night, they would trade "I love yous"... with a tender challenge to see who could get in the last one before hanging up the phone.
Harry's passion for architecture began by earning a B.S. at the Ohio State University and spawned a career taking him as far as the Czech Republic. He worked for his own firm, then at Forest City Enterprises and, until his final days, at Milan Bender & Assoc. Harry's greatest passion was being "Goang-Goang" to his cherished grandson and kindred spirit, Harrison.
Harry's physical journey ended with his incredibly devoted family and close friends by his side, celebrating the gift of having shared this life with such a wonderful man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Toon Ark and Get Fong; brother, William Yee; sister, Margaret Wong; and brothers-in-law, Ray Seeto and Charles Lee. Love for Harry will continue through the memories of his wife, Lane; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Robert Rothschild; and beloved grandson, Harrison; sisters, Mary Lee, Maxine Seeto, Minnie (Hip) Wong; brother, Roy (Liz) Yee; brother-in-law Wing Kee Wong; 24 nieces and nephews, including "Akron Doubles" Amy (Todd) Scott, Kathy (Matt) MacLean, Michael Wong, David (Amy) Wong, Barbara (Wayne) Gipson; 38 great-nieces and nephews; and, many, many dedicated and caring friends.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. MONDAY, December 10th at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Akron, OH 44333. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call SUNDAY, December 9th, 2 to 6 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and from 9 to 11 a.m. MONDAY at Montrose Zion U.M.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333.

Dear Lane,
I am so sorry to hear about Harry. I remember so many good times at Forest City Precast. He was always the 'creator' of our lunches and after work dinners, especially our "garbage can" cookouts.
He was kind and gentle. I always admired his knowledge, his tenacity and his love of life. I am sorry life took our 'gang' in so many different directions.
Heaven is going to be a better place. At the very least it will be more architecturally up to date.
Love,
Max Combs
