John Bly Obituary
Dr. John S. Bly, 84, quietly passed away surrounded by his family on April 19th, 2016. .
As an Akron native, John provided care to his many grateful dental patients for over 40 years. He was a wonderful father, a loyal friend, and a gifted storyteller. He was an exceptional athlete, founding member of the Diamond Grille golf league and an avid sports fan. He will be eternally awaiting a Browns, Indians, or Cavs championship.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie, he is survived by his second wife, Susie Harris; his daughters, Kimberly (James) Barnett, Susan (James) Kotapish; brother, David (Sheila) Bly; his five grandchildren; his stepchildren, Jenny Palermo, Jim (Peggy) Harris, John Harris, Maggie Harris, and Kate (Craig) McCall; and twelve step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25th at 11 a.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St., Akron, OH 44313. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, c/o Akron General Foundation, 1 Akron General Avenue, Akron, OH 44307-2463 or a charity of your choice.
